Pressure Washing Across Cumming, Forsyth County, and North Atlanta
Humidity and tree cover mean most homes here need washing annually.
Hayes Painting and Decorating operates from 2901 Lanier Beach South Rd in Cumming and washes homes throughout Forsyth County and into Fulton, Hall, Cherokee, Gwinnett, Dawson, and Cobb counties. North-facing walls and anything under tree cover green up fastest here, and the shaded lots around Lake Lanier are the clearest example. Driveways and pool decks in the newer subdivisions tend to need a degreaser as much as pressure, since the staining is usually organic growth plus vehicle drip rather than plain dirt.

Pressure Washing Questions Homeowners Ask
Call (770) 871-6383 and we will tell you which method your surfaces need.
What is the difference between pressure washing and soft washing?
Pressure washing uses force to remove what is on a surface, which is right for concrete, brick, and hard surfaces. Soft washing uses low pressure and cleaning solution to kill mildew and algae chemically, which is what siding, painted surfaces, and roofs need. Using high pressure where soft washing belongs is how people end up with etched siding and voided roof warranties.
Will pressure washing damage my siding or roof?
Not when the right method is matched to the surface. Roofs in particular should never be pressure washed, because forcing water under shingles and stripping granules causes real damage. We soft wash roofs and delicate surfaces and reserve actual pressure for concrete and masonry.
How often should a house be washed in Georgia?
Once a year for most homes here. Our humidity and tree cover make mildew and green algae growth on north-facing walls almost inevitable, and catching it annually keeps it a cleaning job rather than a staining problem that has worked into the surface.
Do you wash before painting?
Yes, and it is not optional. New coating applied over pollen, mildew, or chalked paint is bonding to that debris rather than to the substrate, which is one of the most common reasons an exterior paint job fails early.
Can you clean driveways, patios, and walkways?
Yes. Concrete, pavers, and brick all clean up dramatically and this is where actual pressure earns its keep. Oil staining on a driveway usually needs a degreaser and some dwell time rather than just more pressure.
Do I need to be home?
No, as long as we have access to the exterior and to a water spigot. Most homeowners are at work when we wash. We will let you know when we are coming and follow up when it is done.
