Interior Painting Across Cumming, Forsyth County, and North Atlanta
We work out of Cumming and most interior projects are within a short drive.
Hayes Painting and Decorating is based at 2901 Lanier Beach South Rd in Cumming. Interior work takes us throughout Forsyth County and into Fulton, Hall, Cherokee, Gwinnett, Dawson, and Cobb counties. The two-story great rooms and open floor plans common in newer Forsyth and Cherokee County homes need proper access equipment and a plan for cutting in at height, which is routine for our crew. Older homes closer to downtown Cumming, Roswell, and Marietta more often have plaster, deeper trim profiles, and walls that need genuine repair before any colour goes on.

Interior Painting Questions Homeowners Ask Us
If yours is not here, call (770) 871-6383 and ask before you commit to anything.
How long does it take to paint the interior of a house?
A single room is usually a day. A whole-house interior is more often a week to two weeks depending on square footage, ceiling height, how much trim there is, and how much wall repair turns up once we start. You get a schedule at the estimate, and if something changes we tell you the day it changes rather than at the end.
Do I have to move all my furniture out?
No. We move and centre furniture ourselves and cover it, and we handle wall art, outlet covers, and switch plates. What helps most is if you clear small personal items off surfaces and let us know about anything fragile or irreplaceable before we start.
Can we live in the house while you paint?
Almost always yes. We work room by room so you keep the rest of the house, and we use low-VOC products that let a room be reoccupied quickly. Kitchens and primary bedrooms get scheduled so you are not without them overnight.
How do I choose a sheen for each room?
Flat and matte hide wall imperfections best and suit ceilings and low-traffic bedrooms. Eggshell and satin are the workhorses for living areas and hallways because they wipe clean. Semi-gloss belongs on trim, doors, and bathrooms where moisture and hands are constant. We will make a recommendation room by room rather than defaulting everything to one sheen.
Do you repair walls before painting?
Yes, and it is part of the job rather than an add-on. Nail pops, hairline cracks, small drywall damage, and old anchor holes get filled and sanded. Larger repairs, water damage, or failed drywall tape get flagged at the estimate so the cost is known up front.
Will the paint smell?
Far less than it used to. Modern low-VOC and zero-VOC interior paints have very little odour and dissipate within hours rather than days. If anyone in the house is particularly sensitive, tell us at the walkthrough and we will spec accordingly.
