Gutter Cleaning Across Cumming and Forsyth County
Tree cover around Lake Lanier makes this a twice-a-year job for most homes.
Hayes Painting and Decorating works from 2901 Lanier Beach South Rd in Cumming. Gutter work takes us throughout Forsyth County and the surrounding communities. The wooded lots around Lake Lanier and along the older roads near downtown Cumming fill gutters fast, particularly with pine needles, which mat together and block downspouts far more effectively than leaves do. Newer subdivisions with younger landscaping usually need less frequent attention but still collect shingle grit and spring pollen.

Gutter Cleaning Questions Homeowners Ask
Call (770) 871-6383 to get on the schedule.
How often should gutters be cleaned in Forsyth County?
Twice a year is the honest answer for most homes here, once after the spring pollen and seed drop and again in late fall once the hardwoods are bare. Homes with heavy tree cover, and there are a lot of them around Lake Lanier, often need a third visit. Homes with almost no overhang trees can sometimes get by with one.
What actually happens if I skip it?
Water stops going where it is supposed to. It backs up over the gutter edge and runs down the fascia, which rots the wood behind it, and it drops straight along the foundation instead of being carried away. Gutter cleaning is cheap. Replacing rotten fascia and correcting a drainage problem at the foundation is not.
Do you haul the debris away?
Yes. Debris is bagged and removed, and gutters and downspouts are flushed so we can confirm water is actually moving. We do not leave piles of wet leaves in the beds or on the lawn.
Do you check the downspouts too?
Always. A clean gutter that drains into a blocked downspout has not solved anything. We flush each downspout and clear any clogs, and we will tell you if a downspout is discharging somewhere that is going to cause a problem.
Do gutter guards mean I never have to do this again?
No, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling guards. Good guards genuinely reduce how often gutters need clearing and keep out the bigger debris. Fine grit, shingle granules, and pollen still get through and still need periodic attention.
Do you repair gutters as well as clean them?
We reattach loose sections, resecure hangers, and reseal leaking joints as part of a visit. Full gutter replacement is not what we do, and if that is what your home needs we will say so plainly rather than patching something that is past saving.
